Available Discounts/Add-ons

We offer multiple discounts to help make your training more affordable:

Family Discount: (Available at the time of registration) Do you plan to register 2 or more members of your immediate family? We offer a 15% discount to monthly memberships if you have 2-3 members registered. Planning to have more than 3 members registered at the same time? E-mail us to discuss possible additional discounts.

Do you have your own gear? If you are a beginning level student or if you are registering for a Monthly Membership Only and your have your own gear, you are eligible for a discount. Select “I have my own gear” at the time of sign up. Please note that intermediate and advanced students are required for you to have your own gear; this has already been taking into account in the Membership Package Pricing. Intermediate and Advanced level students that do not have their own gear will be charged a $45 fee for monthly rental of basic gear and/or a $15/month fee for lame rental.

First Responder Discount: We offer a 15% discount on membership for our first responders (fire, police, search and rescue, etc) . Please contact us to assess your eligibility and have the discount applied to your account.

Active Member Discount: Are you an active member of the Military? We offer a 15% discount on membership for active military that are maintaining their membership and training at WFA. WFA members who are deployed while a member may return to training upon their return without incurring an additional sign up fee. Please contact us to set up your account apply relative discounts.

Competitive Add-on: For Youth and Teen members who compete outside of the WFA, this covers the cost of strip coaching at Seattle-area events.

Additional Information

Sign-up fee: There is a one-time, non-refundable $50 sign-up fee upon registration for new members or returning members who have previously canceled their membership. Members who have had their accounts placed on hold do NOT have a sign-up fee assessed when they return to classes.

USA Fencing Membership: As a USA Fencing Premium Club, all members are required to have a USA Fencing Membership. If you have purchased a Package that includes USA Fencing Membership, an Access Membership will be included for the first Season that you enroll in the WFA membership. The USA Fencing Memberships run from August 1 through July 31 of the next year. If you join in May or June, your membership will be good for the upcoming season as well. You may opt to upgrade your membership to a competitive membership at any point in the year if you so desire; you will be responsible for the increase in membership fees if you do so. After your initial year of membership with USA Fencing, you are required to maintain your membership by renewing on your own. Information will be provided by USA Fencing.

Cancellation and Membership Changes:

Monthly Membership Subscription: All memberships are a subscription to Washington Fencing Academy. Your membership will automatically renew and be charged to the payment method you have on file until you notify us of your intent to cancel.

We require one-week advance notice in writing in order to cancel your monthly membership. You can email us here to request cancellation. Cancellation will go into effect on your next recurring membership; you will have any remaining time on your current paid membership to use any remaining lessons you have on your package (if applicable). Remaining classes in group or private lesson packages are non-refundable.

Account Hold: Going on vacation, doing a seasonal sport, or needing to focus on your academics for a bit? You may request that your account be placed on hold for a minimum of 2 weeks or a maximum of 6 months by contacting us via email. A small monthly hold fee is charged in lieu of your membership fee when an account is on hold, which allows you to remain an active member of WFA. Account holds that extend past 6 months will automatically be cancelled.

Changes in Membership Plan: If you would like to switch to a different Membership plan, simply email us and let us know. All changes go into effect at the start of your next billing cycle. Please allow a minimum of 3 days to process your status change.
